your muscles grow on your off days. So days off are very important. Here are some tips though to help your workout:

-Before your workout eat/drink lots of protein. If you can have a protein shake 30 minutes before your workout it would be great.

-AFTER your workout you have a 45 minute window of opportunity to fill your muslces with protein. Make sure that you eat or drink a lot of protein within 45 minutes after your workout!!! I usually chug a protein shake right after my workout, or eat a high protein meal (chicken breast, steak, tofu, etc.)

Good luck!

I do not know what your diets consist of but Im guessing you need to eat more. The rule is: If you want to get big you must eat big. (Healthy)
Also, taking supplements, Creatine with Amino acids will help. Cycle on and off. 4 weeks on 4 weeks off.

But, aside from all of that. working out every other day for 1 hour is not enough. You should do 1 or 2 muscle groups a day per week. If you are able to work the same muscle groups every other day then you are not pushing hard enough. You should be too sore.

here is an easy plan.

Monday: Chest & Tri's
Tuesday : Back & Bi's
Wednesday: Shoulders & Legs
Thursday: abs.

It doesnt really matter what days you do these workouts or how you combine them. The key is you shouldnt workout the same muscle groups in a 72 hour period. If you can you need to push harder. To failure is very important.

you get big from doing compound exercises like:

back squat
dead lift
bent over row
military press
close grip bench press
dips
chin up/pull up
front squat
straight leg dead lift

resistance training only provides the stimulus while your diet provides your muscles with the actual building blocks. if you are not seeing enough gains then you need to clean up your diet and eat more calories.

if you aren't counting your calories so that you truly "know" how much you are eating per day don't expect maximum results from your efforts.

bodybuilding is all about nutrition and getting the proper rest after training. going to the gym is the easy part.

People in the desert want ice water too. But it looks like you're doing what you need to do, YOU just want to speed up the process.

My only advice is that you should concentrate on your workouts as a journey, not a destination. In other words, concentrating on a specific look only means you reach that at some point and quit; whereas, if you look at it as something you will do the rest of your life, you will be much happier and really healthy.

Good Luck

ya a long time the way you do it with doing that all you will do is build up your endurence you should do more weight less reps-if u csan do 50 pounds 200 times then you can do 80-90 50 times-5 sest of 10 reps- will incease your stenght and size i do 4 sets of 25 reps of a small weight and 4 10-12 of a heaveir weight, o feach excerise i do, the small is to build my endurance and the heavy is to inrcease my strength and then i increase the low weight to what my high weight was and increase my high weight to a hevaier wieght and so on and so far i do biceps curls, chest flys and shoulder lifts, then the next day i do bench press double biceps curl and leg curls and swtich everyday
