I've always had my own view on fate that I try to explain and most people don't understand. I suppose I believe more in Destiny than fate. But I see fate as the POTENTIAL not the absolute. I believe there is something out there for us that we have to take... we have to make the effort. And I believe every one of us is like that.

I don't believe that life is fated by God. I believe that life is what teaches us what we need, to shape and mold ourselves into who we are, and give us the ability to seek out our destiny.

Yes, pretty much.
In Islam we believe that God has a book ( not literal of course) that has the record of everything little thing He created... and those records ( their fate ) have been there before Creation.

I believe that God does know my life beginning to end and knew it from the time of my conception. He knows the good and poor choices that I will make and have made. This is why not everyone will reach Heavens gates. Many are called but few are chosen. This does not state that all are called and that all can be chosen. The Lord is aware of who will be at his side and who will not be. Those that will be there have it within them to live by the word of Christ. It is not as much a task as it is their mission. I can only hope that I will be one of those to be at his side.

Are you asking the right question? Allow me to explain: Life is the will of God and the will of God is life so all life is the will of God. Our lives do have direction and sometimes sad endings.

Sadly yes life is planed day in and day out. You do what you do because you are doing it! You are following a program and nothing you do can change the program.

Hmmm, good question

Is it my fate to NOT believe in fate?

or, am I fated to not believe in a God who gives us our fates?

perhaps I'm just fated to think for myself about such matters...

I believe that God has a plan for our life and that everything that happens, happens for a reason. But I also believe that God gave us free will for a reason, too.

Our present lifetime is the result of what we did in our past lifetime. This lifetime you are molding your future one. There are only two ways to go: upwards or downwards. If you use your present lifetime to inquire about obtaining self-realization and acting based on your learning you'll sure advance upwards, otherwise your descent is guaranteed.

Suppossedly this is true. Everyone is put here for a reason. Until you have completed your mission it isn't your time to "go".
Might be some truth to this. I have cheated death x 2 in my life. Something or someone is keeping me here for a reason.
