Depends on your definition of Christian. Most non-Catholic Christian denominations accept Catholics as Christians. A very few do not.
A dictionary would say that a Christian is someone professing belief in Jesus as Christ or following the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.
Catholics would fit this definition.
In the Nicene creed, from 325 A.D., Catholics profess:
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father.
Through Him all things were made.
For us and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried.
On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We are baptized as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19, "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
We truly are spiritually "born again," we just don't usually use those words.
With love in Christ.

Indeed, the whole way of life of Jehovah's Witnesses is imitating their Exemplar, Jesus Christ. Being a "Christian" involves living by and following his commandments, not just lip service. The reason Jehovah's Witnesses preach is because they follow Jesus' example and command found at Matthew 24:14 & 28:19, 20. Many religions claim to be "Christian" but do not follow what he teaches, such as participation in war & politics.
A conference of religious leaders in Spain noted this: “Perhaps (the churches) are excessively neglectful about that which precisely constitutes the greatest preoccupation of the Witnesses—the home visit, which comes within the apostolic methodology of the primitive church. While the churches, on not a few occasions, limit themselves to constructing their temples, ringing their bells to attract the people and to preaching inside their places of worship, [the Witnesses] follow the apostolic tactic of going from house to house and of taking advantage of every occasion to witness.”—El Catolicismo, Bogotá, Colombia, September 14, 1975, p. 14. Jehovah’s Witnesses are an accepted Christian religion actively engaged in their worship, now in more than 230 countries and islands of the sea worldwide.
What does it mean to be a Christian? How would you answer?
Their way of life center around faith in Jesus Christ, who is “the way and the truth and the life.” (John 14:6.)

JW's are not Christians because what they teach about Jesus Christ is completely incompatible with Christian truth. Catholics on the other hand were the first Christians, and the only Christians Jesus Christ ever intended to exist. Some claim that Catholics are not Christians in an effort to legitimize the rebellion against God's Holy Church that led to the formation of their manmade tradition. But such a claim is so fundamentally (no pun intended) silly that most intelligent Christians don't lower themselves to making such absurd remarks.

They all want their particular version to be right.
If they can't even agree amongst themselves about this stuff, how are the rest of us supposed to believe that it is the truth.
