Put a block of cream cheese on a plate. Pour/spoon jalapeno jelly on top. Serve with crackers or vanilla wafer cookies.
You can also use any flavor of preserves or jelly. Sometimes a can of crab or tiny shrimp mixed with shrimp sauce instead of the jelly makes a nice spread for crackers too.

It depends on how much you want to spend time & money wise. You can get crab/shrimp dips for crackers or just cheese dips. You can use grapes and other fruit or or use all of these. It depends on what you like. I assume this is for a small gathering? You don't need to spend a lot just use these ideas & present them skillfully so they look extra yummy. Use colored bowls & napkins, small plates. It can be elegant or colorful and fun.

A good cheese and crackers is good with wine. Fresh fruit like grapes and strawberries goes good with it as well.

I would try a light bruschetta with a little gouda on top, then go to a firut plate, and finish up with a little pickled ginger to cleanse the pallate. Oh, cant forget about the desert... that would be a nice raspberry tart. if you dont like the fruit you can just substitute...
