Say you are leading a comfortable life, with nothing to worry about. You go to your place of religion once a week or daily and pay your respects to God like you are visiting any friend. Your visit is soon forgotten by God. When you go through hard times you cry out to God and only when your cry then touches the heart of God does God listen and he heals you. Hard times are the only times that give you any opportunity to get really close to God. So hard times are an opportunity God gives to you to get close to Him. Make full use of all. God is really great if you really get to know Him.

"Can you add any relevant scriptures or comments ?" Ummm...? "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." This simply means that it is not possible for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. Because it is in fact impossible to get a camel through the eye of a needle, except if you have several days to do it and you use a BLENDER! Unless you have a 200-foot needle. Then it just might be possible. And NO, the `eye of the needle´ was NOT a tiny gate in a city wall a camel could only pass if it went on its knees and you took off its entire load. That was made up much, much later. The term that the writer uses means `the eye of a needle, you know, one of those little metal things you sow with!´.

For various reasons, God allows and even sometimes causes hard times to come into our lives. What kind of a father would He be if He let us have whatever we wanted? If your dad allowed you to do whatever you wanted, you'd be a spoiled brat, not appreciating anything that you had. When we go through hard times, it often is the best teacher we'll ever have, and nothing teaches us more effectively than going through hard times. Haven't you ever heard that experience is the best teacher? Often, parents don't let their kids go through bad things, protecting them and not allowing them to fall on their faces, learning the hard way that some things are not good for them. God isn't like that. He wants us to learn to trust Him only. He also knows that only certain things will develop us into a more mature person, so allows or even causes some of these things to come into our lives. If we truly trust Him, then we learn from it, and grow. Unfortunately, some of the things that come into our lives we bring on by our own stubborness & lack of patience, so we get what we deserve. If you are a child of God, then you need to totally trust in His Word, no matter what the circumstances. As His Word says, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28). <*)))><

It all depends upon your concept of human freedom. If you believe that God has sealed your fate. Meaning He already has pre planned your life no matter what you do, then hard times are brought by OUR CREATOR to test our faith and love in Him.
But if you believe that you still have the human freedom to control your own life even with the concept of the Divine Plan; God's Plan, then some hard times are brought about by the choices you've made. You are just facing the consequences of your actions which manifest either as good or hard times.

He knows all things, and this is sorta like SCHOOL.
He wants to see how you handle the bad situations, and how you TREAT others...
He loves you, He Loves all of us.
He just has a greater plan than most, if any of us can FATHOM.
I believe He knows EVERYTHING, including your birth, your life, the choices you will make, and the EXACT MOMENT your body will..."expire", and your soul will CROSSOVER...
I say Crossover like some New age term.
I just mean when you are TRANSFORMED into a NEW BODY, one which will never FEEL pain, nor will it ever thirst, or hunger...
Praise God.
We are like GOLD, which needs to be refined and made PURE.
God knows our hearts and our minds, He knows what we will do before we are even born.
If this world was PERFECT, why would we ever want to COME HOME TO THE FATHER???
This is our opportunity to learn and to shine, or to be humbled...
We must go through the fire to be refined and made pure.
God gave up His One and only Son, that if we believe on Him we may have ETERNAL LIFE IN PARADISE.

I don't know for sure, but I've always heard that the hard times are when we learn to rely on God. If we didn't have hard times, we wouldn't appreciate the good times or be thankful to God for the good times. Also, hard times are just a fact of life sometimes and don't necessarily come from God. We learn to trust God and lean on Him during these times.

If you read your bible it says that we will suffer and have hard times. DO NOT blame God for anything. If something is going wrong, God did not cause it. People misunderstand this and blame him all the time. God helps us get through the hard times, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. He's there for us.

Not everything is meant to be easy. Everyone has hard times and you just have to keep faith. This may be God's way of testing you. Don't question him...I know it's hard sometimes but he has a reason for everything. It always comes together in the end. Pray!

The bible predicts what will happen in the last days, its no surprise that we see the hard times. Sometimes people turn to God during hard times. I hope many will.

All times are hard times depending on what we make of them. Quit blaming God for problems...life just has its ups and downs and this too will pass. Learn something from it or don't.
Belief in the existance of a superpower who hurts people for its own enjoyment or for punishment is sadistic. I won't do it. If making people hurt made people stronger, smarter, more moral, why doesn't God simply kill, rape and maim more people? What about those poor, poor people who never face starvation in their life? Are they deprived of God's love? If more people were killed in 9/11 would we have "learned" more? Are the people in Africa who are starving and being raped loved by God more than the people who live in safety because god is "chastising" them and not those who are living in comfort?
I never hear people say, "GEEZ! I wish God would chastise me a little!!!" What a stupid argument.
Rest easy...God isn't doing anything! People are doing it. Give yourself and your species some credit.
Try this on for size...if god is omniscient, it already knows what you are going to do and is a sadist for putting you through it when it already knows the answer and is powerful enough to reveal it to you if it wanted to....if god is omnipotent, it is able to prevent bad things from happening to you. If it doesn't, again it is a sadistic force versus a loving one.
Hard times come to help us evolve already! To cause us to think rationally.
