The Islamic time does not follows the pattern in which a day begins from 12am to 12pm. The Islamic day begins when the sun sets known as (MAGHREB) and ends when he sun sets again the next day. The Islamic day consists of a day and a night but the only difference is that the day follows the night rather than the night following the day.

I knew... The evening after sun set is considered to be the next day. Especially for Thursday evenings the special holy day Friday is beginning.
