sadley, written thank you notes are quickly becoming a thing of the past, but it is one thing that people always appreciate more than a thank you in person or the phone or an email. First off you get a piece of mail that isnt a bill or junk mail so that makes ur day better, then to see that what you did for someone was really appreciated and that you realized what they did or you and it mean alot to you, so yeah I would send one in addition to thanking them at the party

Flowers or some other token would be very nice but a card will do the trick. You just say what you feel about what they did. You say thank you, you say how happy you were with the party, you say how it cheered you up and you say how now that you have such good friends here you will not be homesick because they made you feel like this is home. Stuff like that and remember to thank God for sending you such friends and acquaintances in you new home.

Yes, "Thank you" cards should still be sent.
Send them to the party planners and gift givers.
Thank them for planning the party and for the gifts. Send cards to each gift giver and to the party planners. For example, if Sue and Bill (a married couple) planned your party and gave you a gift, send one card thanking them for the gift and for taking the time to do all the planning, food buying, etc.
If Mary comes and brings a gift, send her a card as well.
You were right to thank everyone at the the party for their roles in planning. Cards should still be sent.
Happy Birthday, by the way!

It shows gratitude. Even though you thanked everyone verbally, it is a great gesture, and it will make them want to throw you another party your next birthday.
