How often to feed it, take it for walks etc. Can it stay in the garden at night? I told her I would not take him near any Chinese restaurant.

You look after a dog kinda like you would a 2 year old child, keep an eye on him but let him get comfortable with his surroundings. Feeding depends on the dog, most dogs I have had I could leave a bowl of food down for them and they would eat when they were hungry. However if your daughter has him on a feeding schedule ask her how often and how much per feeding. As for walking him, well if he isn't house broken keep a close eye on him and if he starts sniffing around alot especially near the doors or as far from the bedroom as he can get, that is a good indication he needs to go out. If he is house broken he will tell you when he has to go, usually by whining, or going back and forth between you and the outside door. Good idea on the Chinese Restaurant!
Bad idea on the garden, if he is usually kept outside he would probably be fine, but your garden would not survive! Dogs when left to their own devices become bored very quickly, one way they entertain themselves is with digging holes and playing tug of war with nature, like grabbing your prize tulips and seeing how many they can pull out of mother natures grasp in one heave. Better to keep the dog inside where you can keep an eye on him better.

Simple, just stick to your daughter's routine. She'll tell you what to feed, how much and when. Always make sure there is fresh water available. Take it for as many walks as possible (good exercise for you and the dog!). It can stay out at night but it must have adequate shelter from the elements (that's the law as well as common sense). Preferably, bring it indoors (good company for you) but let it out now and then for the toilet.

Walk it at least twice a day, feed it once in the morning and once at tea time (check packet of food re amount for size of dog). Make sure it has plenty of fresh water to drink and give it a cuddle as it will miss it's mum!. Keep it in the house or it will freeze in this weather without a kennel. Use common sense!

ask your daughter again exacltly what the dog needs. stick to that and that will take you far.

i suppose you can leave it out in the garden, only if it is tied up with a chain. they also much prefer it if they have to go outside, a kennel.

but i think you should let him stay inside if you give him a basket, a blanket/rug and some kind of toy and he will be fine, he won't disturb you.

Ask her when and how much the dog gets fed, walked etc.

Keep the dog on the same schedule as it always in that way it will adjust to your house easily.

I would hope that your daughter will give you instructions on how to look after her dog, I would personally never leave my dogs anyway, but I'm sorry I definitely would not leave them with someone who is as inexperienced as you obviously are!
