A voyaging ship was wrecked during a storm at sea
and only two of the men on it were able to swim to a
small, desert like island. The two survivors, not
knowing what else to do, agree that they had no
other recourse but to pray to God.

However, to find out whose prayer was more
powerful, they agreed to divide the territory
between them and stay on opposite sides of the
island.

The first thing they prayed for was food. The next
morning, the first man saw a fruit-bearing tree on
his side of the land, and he was able to eat its
fruit. The other man's parcel of land remained
barren.

After a week, the first man was lonely and he
decided to pray for a wife. The next day, another
ship was wrecked, and the only survivor was a woman
who swam to his side of the land. On the other side
of the island, there was nothing.

Soon the first man prayed for a house, clothes,
more food. The next day, like magic, all of these
were given to him. However, the second man still
had nothing.

Finally, the first man prayed for a ship, so that
he and his wife could leave the island. In the
morning, he found a ship docked at his side of the
island. The first man boarded the ship with his
wife and decided to leave the second man on the
island. He considered the other man unworthy to
receive God's blessings, since none of his prayers
had been answered.

As the ship was about to leave, the first man
heard a voice from heaven booming, "Why are you
leaving your companion on the island?" "My
blessings are mine alone, since I was the one who
prayed for them," the first man answered. "His
prayers were all unanswered and so he does not
deserve anything."

"You are mistaken!" the voice rebuked him. "He
had only one prayer, which I answered. If not for
that, you would not have received any of my
blessings.

"Tell me," the first man asked the voice, "what
did he pray for that I should owe him anything?"

"He prayed that all your prayers be answered."

For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits
of our prayers alone, but those of another praying
for us.

When Jesus died on the cross he was thinking of
you!
If you are one of the 7% who will stand up for him ?

"I am one of the 7%".

I apologize for the7% thing. I am unaware of the accuracy of that. Reguardless I am amazed how some focused on certain details and missed the point of the story. God Bless

I am!

This morning, a lady sat next to me on the bus and I was not pleased that she fidgeted - at first - and then proceeded to cough somewhat.

(I hate when people get into the bus and then decide to complete their make-up, pick at themselves, etc. I also do not want to 'catch' anything - so many viruses floating around in the air)

I said this last to say that after fussing within myself, God (in the Spirit) asked me "Why don't you give her a cough drop?" I always carry some Halls' cough drops in my bag. I hesitated, not because I did not want to give - I always offer others when they have a cough. Then He said "Give her a cough drop."

I felt very foolish as she said with a rather pleasing smile "Oh! Thank you very much!" When she alighted at her stop, she wished me a very nice day.

Thank you for your question and the story! I'm so glad I obeyed.

Dear Chopper,

I am one of the Saved but I sure do hope that it isn't only 7%. I'm hoping (not only hoping but praying) that All people will be saved. I know that my heavenly Father doesn't want anyone to be eternally lost. Although He will not just wave a magic wand and negate Jesus' death on the cross.

On that basis I'm not one of the 7%. However, my younger child was born on 7.7.77. Does that count for anything?

P.S. I'm getting tired of the nice sounding forwards like the one you shared. They just don't compare to God's Word which has Substance.

I really enjoyed the story and do believe we could all put more effort into caring and praying for others. I will always stand up for Jesus so I am one of the %, but I hope it's more than just 7%.

As I read, I suspected some type of answer as what was given.
I am in the middle of some very trying times, & I am dependent on not only my prayers, but the prayers of others. They mean a lot to me.
I have no local family, so my friends are my support, along with G-d.

Unfortunately, prayer has been proven not to work, so it doesn't really matter who does the praying.

Sorry to be such a stick in the mud, but I really wish folks would concentrate on finding real solutions to their problems, as opposed to reading short stories and thinking they are factual.

In fact, I invite all of you to pray that I will become a Christian. I'll let you know how those prayers turn out.

Yes! Thanks for that. I hope I will always stand up for Him. My heart can be wicked so I said "hope" because I know I'm not perfect. I do believe and love Him with all my heart though. I try to put others first and show them His love. I want to be selfless like that man.

Seven in Biblical numerics means spiritual completeness and The TRUE Christ returns at the last, seventh trump and I'll stay in the field doing His work and wait for the true Christ and stand for Him till He returns.

Who told you that there was only 7 percent.

Seems a bit fatalistic.
