Someone in your area most of the time a breed club will sponser the dog show.
Here in the US they are split up by area and one person handles the entries for the areas shows. He works with the sponser clubs and gets people entered into the show.
Once you get on their mailing list they send out all the info on each show comming up in your area and you can choose which to enter from the lists.
Try contacting a local breed club or go to a show and ask on of the breeders there who handles the entries and they should be able to get you everything you will need.
Good luck.

You have to first find out if your dog breed is registered. There are different assoc. and you must go to the shows that accept your breed. To train a dog, it depends on what type of show. You can do a show for the standard of the breed, so you need to train your dog how to stand, and walk, and how to let the judges touch the dog all over...feet, teeth, tail, balls, everything! You can first take 5 mins a day to get your dog ready. Don't forget to have other people also touch your dog and get it ready for strangers. And never underestimate the power of treats. I trained my dog with bits of cheese, meats, or apples.

What kind of shows? Breed ring (beauty contest)? Obedience? Agility?
I bet if you start here

you can get some idea of trainers in your area. Coming without your dog to observe a class would be a good first move, and then you can figure out what's interesting for you to do with your dog.
