My bridesmaid has just told me you shouldnt show anyone a picture of the dress you want before the wedding day as this is bad luck but ive been showing lots of people which one I'm planning to get?

There's no such thing as bad luck or good luck. I've heard the old saying that it's bad luck for the groom to see the wedding dress before the wedding...that's silly. My husband saw my dress before the wedding we've been together 8 years and are still blissfully happy.

The tradition is that the groom should never see what the dress looks like prior to the wedding or it is bad luck. I have shown people pictures of my dress...you are completely safe!

Bah! I showed my dress to every female I met and most males. I also had to do this because no one in my bridal party or my family lived near by enough to help me choose a dress. I took pictures of every dress I put on and we voted (of course my vote counted a lot more than everyone else's!). It was an easy and fun way to keep people connected.

Never heard of that before.... besides all that stuff is old wise tales. I have been showing everyone my actually dress since I got it on clearance and this style is no longer made. The designer died!!
There is NO such thing as bad luck :)

No its not bad luck to show anyone but the groom. It just ruins the surprise if you show alot of people, but no bad luck.

God I hope not cuz Ive showed everybody pics, and when it actually came in I have showed my close friends the reall thing.....even my groom has seen pics but I won't let him see the real thing. He still can't tell you what it looks like beyond white and "sleeveless" (its strapless-lol!) So I'm not too worried. Show anybody you want, it doesn't matter one bit!

I showed pictures of my dress to people.
I even took pics of me trying on dresses so I could refelect later and go back and make the best descision.
I showed those to people also.
No big deal

No, it's not bad luck! you need to show the dress to friends to get their opinion and advice. you shouldn't, however, show it to your husband to be.. the big day should be the first time he sees it!

Of course not. She's just jealous cuz you're getting all the attention. Get a new bridesmaid b4 she finds a way to ruin your wedding.
