My 15 month daughter has very watery eyes and a lot of yellow discharge in them as well. She is rubbing her eyes a lot and one seems to be worse than the other. Is there anything this could be other than conjunctivitis?
Also I was holding a baby the other day that had weeping eyes but her mother said it was blocked tear ducts, could she have been wrong and my daughter caught this from the baby?

Pinkeye sounds disgusting I have only ever heard taht in South Park so I am assuming it is an American term.

If it just came on suddenly its possible the other mother was wrong and your child caught some type of virus from the other child. Do you know for sure that it is not conjunctivitis? Pull down her lower eyelid to check the color. Or, if this is something that has been developing for awhile it could be allergies. Have she been in contact with new animals? Food and chemical allergies would generally give more of a skin reaction, but it could also be a new food or laundry detergent reaction. Then again, it could just be a cold developing, which would be the best scenario, I guess. In any event, I hope your little one gets over this quickly!

pink eye is conjunctivitis.....
And I am sorry sweetie but thats what it sounds like she has.
Take her to the doctor and they will give her eye drops and even if its really bad they will give you a Antibiotic. My kids have had this..
I also think there is a over the counter eye drops you can buy just go ask your local drug store.

In the mean time, Lots of hand washing and warm compress's for your daughters eyes. be careful because you can get it to and its very YUCKY when a adult gets conjunctivitis... Trust me I have had it!!! :)

Good luck and get your daughter seen, she may need Antibiotic's!

Could it be pink eye, you need to see a doctor right away. It is VERY contagous and make sure that you are washing anybodies hand that have come close to her eyes, hands, wash rags towels.

When you wash her eyes make sure that you are not useing infected rags, use a new rag or a paper towel EVERY TIME! This goes for you also, don't let anyone rub their eyes without washing them first.

whether it's pink eye or not, it's an infection of some kind. She's got to be very uncomfortable! Take her in to the doctor and stop making her suffer!
