We met online & we communicate daily via e-mail/phone. He lives in TX, me in IL. We got 2gether twice. He says he is old fashioned & don't want me showing "his stuff", my body off in revealing clothes, like mini skirts. He seems to feel our relationship is 2 good 2 be true. I might go out 2 a club once a month w/my friend, & he gets upset saying to me that he doesn't want a party girl. He got upset that I told a man @ my gym that my heart was already taken by my cowboy from TX, why I don't know since I was trying 2 let people know that I am not available! He misunderstands me alot on the phone & through e-mails, he will say stuff like, "You talk to me like you think I'm stupid", when I don't. He is really sweet & wants to take care of me. Plus he wants me to move to TX & be his last woman. Do I go for it? I really am crazy about him, but I don't want to make a mistake.

Hey i may be younger than you but i've been through this. the exact same thing. long distance relationship and he doesnt want me to reveal my body, cant go out clubbing, gets mad if a guy comes talk to me and al i did was to tell him that i'm not available. it had been like this for 3 years and a half. he even told me not to go to college and come live with him, marry him and be his last girl for the rest of his life. sounds wonderful when you're in love, but seriously, its a bit freaky.

i realized that he's not the only guy in the world who will go for me, wants to marry me and care for me. and also this is my body, i wear what i want, i go clubbing if i want, and i can choose to do what i want. after all, its my life. think of it thoroughly because as soon as you say yes its a huge commitment and you cant get out of it. but as soon as you breakfree...damn thats a great feeling of freedom! he only does this because he feels insecure and he's scared that he will lose you because he know he can.

seriously, there are guys out there who loves you just the same or more than he can ever love you, and still let you do whatever you want. i've found that and i'm more happy now.

I'm guessing that he doesn't want you wearing revealing clothes because he doesn't want you to attract the attention of other men. After all, he's not there to "protect" you. That's the same reason why he doesn't want you going to clubs with your friends.

The 2 times that you have gotten together, have you had to change the way you dress and the things you do to make him happy? If so, you'd better think long and hard before moving all the way to Texas, as you might have to change those mini-skirts for cowboy boots, jeans, and flannel shirts to make him happy.

You mentioned that this is a new relationship. Exactly how new is it? How old are you both? Is there a big age difference?

Be very careful of moving that far away to be with a guy that sounds like he want you to dress like a Mormon!!!! You sound like you're pretty young and you have to remember that since you've only met a couple of times the relationship (I use that word very loosely!!) will seem perfect now but things will change over time and if he's already controlling it will only get worse.

He sounds like a very controlling guy. Be careful! You could be setting yourself up in an abusive relationship. Better to wait and question everything.

You learn from your mistakes, don't be afraid of them. Take a chance, long distance relationships are certain to fail. You need to be together , its the only way you will know if he is the one. You can always go back home.

Don't mess with Texas. he is a bible belt fundamentalist who has a brain set up like it is still the 1940's If you cannot deal with that because of your ultra liberal feelings, dump him!
