I'm in the middle of installing Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business on my Windows XP Home Edition Version2002 Service Pack 2 PC and its asking me to install a CD for Windows XP Professional Svc Pack 2 on my PC that I do not have. How can I solve this problem?

Immediate answer is that you really cant, unless you buy the upgrade from home to pro.

You are installing office 2k sbe on an xp home, and its asking you for the xp pro cd?

I dont mean to be rude, but what are you NOT telling us? This shouldn't happen. I would call microsoft for support - assuming that you have all legal software.

that doesnt make sense unless small business uses something that professional uses. But I doubt thats possible. Call microsoft on that problem. Home and Professional are close to the same thing.

You definitely need the disc. Either buy a copy OR borrow one from your friend/relative; you do not need to key in any product key, the system just needs to install a few files from there that works with Microsoft Office.

If you do not have a legitimate copy of the program, you will not be able to download updates - no ifs, ands, or buts.
