I dyed my hair black from medium brown and no color would take that away. if i tried to put a really red color it was still black with a hint of red but you could only see it in the light.

Is your hair naturally black or died black? Big difference.
I would consult a professional since doing this yourself could result in a nightmare.

You probably really wouldn't be able to notice it until you're under bright lighting where there'd be a red cast to it.
If your hair is really porous, you'll get a small hint of it that will be noticable anywhere, but not likely.

it would still be very dark, but u would have a tinge of red in the light , personally its not worth colouring it. pull chunks out die it blond, then do bright red. black and red is a hot look ...

well, it could turn a yuckey pooish color, so i would suggest dyeing it a lighter brown first and the doing the red. that's what I did and it looks really good on me.

For it to turn out red, you'd have to bleach it lighter first.
