Remember to pack all gels and liquids in a Ziploc bag. I have known TSA employees to confiscate items even if they are less than 3oz., just because they weren't in a bag.

Ultimately, be prepared for some TSA employees to take what you have anyway. Plan ahead and don't let that start your trip off on the wrong foot.

Yes you can as long as it is packed in a clear 1 qt. ziploc bag. If you wanted to bring more you can pack it in your checked luggage, there is not a size limit on the liquids and gels for checked luggage.
