I know there are more people allergic to long-haired cats but how could a short-haired cat be more allergic to some ?

It's the increased sheading. The dander in the hair makes people sneeze and when the hair is not lying around everywhere it hinders sneezing.

Long-haired cats have more fur. And because their fur is so long and thick, dander is harder to get rid of.

Not that that really means a whole lot: I've seen some short-haired cats that could shed enough to make a new blanket from!

You are not allergic to the hair. No matter how short or long it is. You are allergic to the Dander on the skin under the hair...

I don't know. I had two long haired cats, no problem. Can't be near a short haired. Someone told me it has to do with the dander.

I prefer hair that will is shoulder length or longer, And since that men who like women are more often then not straight, they like long hair because it looks more feminine, as most guys have short hair.

long hair is nice but requires maintenance and u have to grow it out for a long time
