There's tons of programs out there to teach you typing. The best FREE one I found was actually called yahoo chat!

Beleive it or not, thats how I learnt to type - spending hours in chat rooms until 3am with the light off - that helps you to memorise the key locations because you can't see them in the dark.

I know, sounds dumb and stupid, but very effective.

Mavis Beacon program is excellent. (I have it.) Contains lessons from beginning to end, with finger exercises, timed tests.

at this writing, Monday 1//15/07, 12:30EST, it is on sale, new, for $6. Go for it.

There is a great program called Read, Write and Type. It is a kid's program, but I use it from time to time to improve my speed.

Jumpstart Typing. It's for kids, but it's a lot of fun and it helped me improve. I got it to teach my kids how to use the keyboard when they were younger. It works.
