They said that she threw up and on their way to the vet she died. She was very playful on Friday and seemed healthy. Although she had breathing problems that they had been working on.

The vet is supposed to give a cause of death today.

Just to clear things up, it was not my dog. It was a guy that I work withs dog. The cause of death turned out to be, that she had been overfed. When she was throwing up it cause something in her to bust which caused internal bleeding. It is just a horrible thing.

I've seen it happen at the shelter I work at in puppies who come in wearing flea collars many times. They just throw up and fall over and die, usually after lethargy and non responsive behavior which is most likely a drop in blood pressure. Also an asymmetrical gate (crooked walk). Flea collars are toxic but some puppies are more reactive than others. We have a policy of removing all flea collars from puppies and kittens now. Did you use any flea or tic products?

Did the vet have an idea why it died? There could be so many reasons. Did it get into some poison, did it have parvo, did it have asthma, there are so many things you should talk to your vet and see what the cause was.

Sorry about your loss. I hate to say this but if you were feeding your dog a poor quality dog food it might have been poisoned. Dog food companies put anything in to their food including dead pets they get from the Vet's offices. Most dog food cause all types of cancers. It is a horific process they go through. It is best to feed your pet food that can be consumed by humans.

It could have been anything from parasites to something congenital to something toxic.

Please keep us informed on what the necropsy reveals!

Very sorry for your loss!!!
