I recently installed Windows Vista alongside XP I have now formatted the hard drive partition to remove Vista and gotten rid of all the files. However, when booting up the computer it still displays the option to start with Vista and if I don't move quickly enough it attempts to boot Vista. How do I completely remove this option from startup?

I have the following that you suggested. But I cannot see anything listed as Vista under the startup. Am I dong something wrong or do I need to look somewhere else for it? I would really appreciate any advice as I don't want this to bugger up my computer which is brand new.

Cheers, Liam

The operations below are in XP:
start -> Run... -> (enter the command) msconfig -> (it will open the System Configuration Utility window) find the "Boot.INI" tag in this window and left-click it.-> you will find some string like: "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows Vista..." please select it then press the "Check All Boot Paths" button.-> then you can follow the steps to remove this option from the startup.
