Peace!
I think we should.
Ecclesiastes summarized the essence of his thought in this verse in Chapter 3: "God made everything fitting in its time; but he also set eternity in our hearts, though we are not able to embrace the work of God from the beginning to the end" (3,11-14; 8,16-17).
We are in a world where all is disconcerting. Let us try to sense the mystery of God and the weight of his silence; the human being is a limited mortal being. Be satisfied with fully living the present moment, trying to solve the problems within our reach. Know how to profit by the joys God has in store for us today, and leave the rest to his goodness.
God bless!

Aren't so many of them that way? It is in the Bible because the MAN who organized it felt it was important enough. James, I believe. Anyway, its in the Bible for the same reason that so many others are. Supposed to be I guess. Life works as part of the plan. Ecclesiastes being in there, part of the plan.

Why is any of it in the bible?
Because it advanced the ideas of the version of Christianity that the early roman catholics who compiled the bible wanted to advance.
It worked didn't it.
For better or for worse 2.1 billion people now claim to believe in it.
I don't always, do you?
Love and blessings Don

For every book in the Bible, God divinely influenced the human authors of the Scriptures in such a way that what they wrote was the very Word of God.

Because God inspired it through his Holy Spirit just as 2 Timothy 3:16,17 says.

Can you really take anything in the Bible seriously?
Talking snakes, people walking on water, zombies, it all seems a little far fetched.

The Book of Ecclesiastes was GOD inspired and a part of the Old Testament for the Israelites. We re Christians in this day and age. After Christ ascended we were given a New Testament to follow. The Book of Ecclesiastes is now "for our learning" only. Spend some time studying the New Testament while there is still time. It is my hope that you too will find the assurance in HIS WORD and become a Christian also.
To become a real Christian, we are told that we must HEAR the WORD in John 6:45, Jesus said, “It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” We are also told so in Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We are told the we must BELIEVE in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We are also told so in Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” and in John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. We are told that we must REPENT (or turn from sin) in Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Also in Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. We are told to CONFESS CHRIST in Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We are also told in 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. We are to be BAPTIZED according to Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” and Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. We are to CONTINUE to be FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH according to Revelation 2:10c Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. We also know that Paul wrote in Romans 14:12 each of us shall give account of himself to God. It is important that we not ignore what is written, change what is written, or add to what is written in the New Testament which is our Christian Guide. Have a great week.
