Yes, first make an appointment to see the dentist. In the meantime, you need to floss more often. This helps remove the plaque between your teeth and underneath your gums. This also stimulates and massages your gums. I know it can be uncomfortable, but brush your gums too. In time the bleeding should subside, or stop all together, and your gums will look and feel much better.
And as mentioned above from another, make sure your buy a 'soft' toothbrush. Dentists always recommend purchasing 'soft' toothbrush. Why there's medium and hard, I don't know. Though they say that's for those with dentures.
Hope this helps.

Yes it does sound like gum disease or gingivitis. Book an appointment with your dentist and in the meantime, start using a mouthwash like Oraldene or Corsydyl. Don't be put off brushing vigorously because your gums bleed - in fact this is all the more reason to be thorough. It might be adviseable to look at your diet and increase your intake of fruit and veg and vit c. I'd also invest in a decent quality electric toothbrush - they give you a much better clean than normal toothbrushes and my bleeding gums have cleared up no end since investing in one.

It's called gingivitis and is a gum infection. It's not the end of the world, but if left untreated, can cause infection in other parts of your body, including your heart. Go to a dentist and get a good deep-gum cleaning and try to brush your teeth more often - and FLOSS! If you do these on a regular basis, the gums should receed back to your teeth line. Right now, they are inflammed...

My brother is a dentist. This is the most frequent question I ever heard. You have to brush your teeth up and down, never left-right or right-left because by doing that you only move the dirt from a place to another. Try to brush more from interior to exterior, like up and down movement. Change the brush. If the bleeding is serious, go to a dentist.

You do need to go to the dentist but to help that, brush your gums and floss every day. It's the plaque that stays on your teeth and gums that causes the irritation that turns into gum disease. If you can afford it, get a sonic care toothbrush and use Listerine toothpaste or just swish listerine every day. It will help kill the germs.

mine were doin that too and my teeth started to get loose. then a couple of my front teeth fell out. the dentist said it was advanced gum disease. I had to get all the rest pulled out and get fake ones and I'm only 15. It's not so bad without teeth, I just hope the new ones look nice whenever I finally do get them.

Other than the dental answers, I would be concerned about a possible bleeding disorder. Your platelets might be low, your PT/INR might be elevated, etc. There are causes for these things that can be serious. Watch, if the bleeding continues despite all the dental things, visit your health care provider

mine used to bleed when i was young , i was told i have weak gums ? so being a resourceful child and deciding i didn't want weak gums i took it upon myself to get the hardest tooth brush i could find and scrub hell out of them (i figured they'd either toughen up or I'd cause a problem that i might get fixed !)
crazy kid's mind but it worked after a couple of weeks they stopped bleeding and have never bled again .
