That's plenty enough if you're doing it right although careful you don't overdo it. You might find that once a day with more focused and structured workouts will be more effective for you.
You're right to use the treadmill as it's good cardio-vascular exercise and gets your heart rate up and therefore helps you burn fat.
If you're intending to lose 4 stone, it's definitely adviseable to do some weight training as well as this will improve and build muscle tone because this helps your body to burn fat and increases how quickly you'll see your body changing into a lovely new shape.
If you're a member of a gym then I'd advise forking out on one personal training session so they can help you work out a fitness plan specifically for your goals and body shape and fitness levels.

Depends what you do on a treadmill... If you just walk on it, no. If you run 10 minute miles on it, yes.
I'm concerned because you sound as if exercise is not something you're expecting to enjoy, but just a means to an end... a necessary evil,... Its exactly that kind of attitude that makes people not stick to their regimes and give up after a couple of weeks.
If you've got 4 stone to lose, you must be clinically obese for your height and its important you stick to it. Find something you enjoy doing. Also the treadmill is rather high impact for someone with a lot of weight on them, so make sure your shoes have the appropriate cushioning and support for your weight.
Make the goal of your weight loss plan not just to lose weight per se, but to lose excess body fat and to get fit. There are only two ways of shedding excessive body fat. One is by consuming fewer calories (i.e. eat less, or eat healthier). The other is by burning more calories (i.e. by being more active and exercising). Either way you have to generate a calorie deficit.
There are 3500 calories per pound of body fat. So if you have a calorie deficit of 500 calories you would lose approximately one pound per week: (500 x 7 = 3,500) A calorie deficit of 1000 calories would therefore mean that you'd lose approximately two pounds per week (1000 x 7 = 7000). Two pounds a week is commonly accepted as the maximum rate of weight loss that is healthy. So if you want to lose 56 pounds, 7 months would be a realistic target.
Also mix up your treadmill sessions between aerobic and anaerobic runs. In the morning do your 30 mins of aerobic runs i.e. at a manageable speed where you should be able to speak without gasping. This builds endurance. In the evening do half an hour of anearobic speed intervals where you go flat out and then have recovery breaks where you let your heartrate come back down and go again. That builds stamina. You can do this while running, cross trainer, rowing, cycling. Both aerobic and anaerobic cardio burns fat, just in different ways. You'll also develop you slow twitch as well as you fast twitch muscle fibres that way.
Also do weight bearing exercises, either resistance machines or free weights. Lean muscle mass is the best fat burner we have. Once you build muscle it wants to live and it'll increase your basal metabolic rate even when resting.
Most importantly stick with it.

If you are losing weight, than in theory it's enough. You can speed up the process if you incorporate strength training. It will increase your metabolism. Don't get discouraged when you plateau. It WILL happen. Additionally, if you begin a strength training regimen, you will gain muscle, which weighs more than the fat you are losing, and will SEEM as if your progress is slowing. Do not be discouraged by this. There is no DIET that's going to do this for you and work on a long term. This is a LIFESTYLE, and you need to be patient. You don't have to starve yourself, just eat healthy and MOVE. You'll get there. Good Luck!!!

It's certainly better then nothing, and it depends what your health/weight is now, plus how strenuous your ½ hour treadmill session is. I think you're doing more then most though. If you want to lose weight by exercising, as a rule of thumb, you're losing it if you sweat. Good luck!

Sounds pretty good. You don't need to do it morning and evening or every day. 5 times a week for 25 minutes each would be plenty. Also if you combine strength training about 3 times a week that will help your cardio exercises to burn more calories. Good luck.
