You have a couple of issues here.First let me say that is is illegal for a 19 yr old to have a sexual relationship with a 14yr old(she is still a(minor).Your daughter may also think that it is ok to drink alcohol which again for her age is illegal. Now with that said I am not trying to be disrespectful or rude but I am going to be very straight forward with you.I am also a mother of 2 teenage daughters. You are the mother it is your job to not only establish but also to enforce the ground rules.Your daughter does not tell you what to do rather you tell her what she can and cannot do.You explain to her that you are responsibile for what is in her best interest she may not appreciate it now but trust me as she matures she will understand. You need to explain to her that there are certain laws and that those laws were put in place for a reason. It is great to beable to be friends with your children but first and most important you must be their parent first.Explain to her also that it is not only legally wrong but is it also morally wrong and if you allowed her to be with this 19yr old you subject youself to being arrested for endangerment to a minor.I completely underrstand your situation because i have also been there. The best advice I can give you is what i have said and you just need to be the mother.E-mail me if you need more help through this.Good luck to you.

First of all, at 14 you are too young to be dating, you can't even drive a car ! What happens if you are on a date and get in a bad situation you can't leave! Next it is illegal for a 19 yr old to date a 14 yr old, i don't know where you live but in florida you have to be 17 to date anyone older than 18 . 19 yr old MEN should be be approaching 14 yr old children, when she becomes 18 and he is mid twenties that will be a diffrent story

AT age fourteen i dont think they should be dating anyone. Especially not a 19 year old!! No way would i let that happen. My fourteen year old son was seeing a girl his own age and it changed him completley! Bad moods..not the same kid i was dealing with before...They are not mature enough to handle having a boyfriend/girlfriend plus deal with all the things that goes on with school...peer pressure....time it takes to play sports...homework..friends....it is just too much for them.

Good luck

First and foremost it is illegal for a 19 year old to have any type of sexual relations with a 14 year old, it is called statutory rape. How immature can this guy be if he is trying to date a 14 year old girl. I would get a hold of him and tell him that you do not approve and if he refuses to leave your daughter alone then you will take action, i.e restraing order and that you will press charges if their is or has been any sexual contact.

YOU'RE right. Your 14 year old would probably think it's okay to date a 40 year old who tells her everything she wants to hear. That's why it's so important for parents to be in their kids lives until they're old and mature enough to make these kinds of decisions. Don't try to be her friend, be a mom and guide her at all costs. She'll thank you for it later...and damn you if you don't. Hang in there , Mom.

Screw that --what is wrong w/ a 19 yr old that he cant find a girl closer to his age?? I would intervene as soon as possible---actually I would kick his *** myself!! They cannot have anything in common she is too young to mess w/ a guy that is that much older--think about it he is looking at her as an easy way to get sex-she isn't emotionally mature enough to deal w/ a person on that level and it will be big trouble!!!

A 14 year old shouldnt be dating anyone of any age. Tell her you are the parent and you make the rules and her job is to obey, do homework and chores and wait until she is legally of age to make decisions that you are against.

I say no way their is too much of an age difference & maturity level. It would make me think of their(19yr.old) motive anyway. I mean what could they have in common. She is just starting high school and he is probably out of school. Just the maturity level alone is too much. They will probably want your child to explore more adult things then you would want her experiencing right now..Sex!!!

Tell your daughter that it is okay to put him in jail if he touches her. And her being a teenager, she will try to sneak around to see him, so keep an eye out! And if you ever see him, you need to tell him that. I think it's just gross to begin with. Good luck! :)

14 year old kids shouldn't date at all. set rules for your daughter, you're her parent, that is your job.
