they will resize the ring if needed, if you are so worried about it when you go to buy the ring tell them that you are not sure of the size and ask their policy on this.

Typically a jeweler does sizing which means they will add or take away metal to make the ring smaller or larger. Jewelry stores normally carry all rings in a 7 and size them from there.

Here are two choices:
Give her the ring at the best guessed size. If it doesn't fit, they can resize it to fit her exactly.
Secondly, you can easily download and print a ring sizer from the internet. It's a small piece of paper you cut out and wrap it around her finger and you will end up with the right size. LOL.. size her as she sleeps.
If all else fails..... I'll give you my basic idea of sizes based on weight ... (not knowing if she has very fat fingers or not)
if she weighs about:
100-125 ...... go with a size 6
125-140 ..... go with a size 7
140-160..... go with a size 8
Just a guess........... but I'd suggest downloading the ring sizer and size her when she doesn't know it. Worse case scenario, the jeweler will resize to fit.
Good Luck

There are a few things you can do with a ring that doesn't fit. The ring can always be melded to size. As to whether you can exchange a ring for the right size, you probably have to ask each individual jeweler if that is possible.

Typically a jeweler will simply size the ring you bought to fit. They can decrease or increase the size of the band as needed, by adding or removing part of the metal.

No, they don't. They come in a size 7. Call them, some jewelery stores have jewelers on the premises and size in 1 hour. Also it may depend if their are stones in the band. If she wants a simple ring, suggest going with a solitaire (1 diamond). you can always present her with the ring, and then have it sized to be sure of the size.

Yes, of course. Some jewellers will do a size change for free. Guess it's included in the price.

Beware that if the ring has diamonds in the band, all around, it obviously cannot be sized.
Does she have a ring that she wears often that you know fits? If so, take it to the jeweler and let them measure.

They will resize it for you, you just need to bring her with you so they can find her size or you can just tell them her size. If you want this to be a perfect surprise, take a ring of hers that fits and have them use it to determine size. Good luck and God bless.
