I was sitting in church next to a sweet elderly-ish couple whom I know. I was beside the man. Every so often the sweet wife would reach up and lovingly brush the dandruff flakes off of her husband's shoulders -- AND ONTO ME! Gross. What could I possibly have said or done? It was a packed house, so we couldn't have just gotten up and moved.

I would have said, "It is so sweet of you to care for your husband like that.....but can ya brush it off in THAT direction?".
Don't be mean, but be open and honest.
I wouldn't want that brushed on me either....even though it's only dandruff....still....

You want gross. Last night I was using a stall in the mens room and some guy who apparently had a bladder problem came in and used the next stall over to take a piss. I don't know if he was drunk or what but he was peeing all over the place - including the floor and there was plenty of it on the floor near my feet. I'll take the dandruff flakes any day.

I personally would have made a bit of a show of brushing the flakes off myself after each time she did it and hoped they noticed, but it sounds like they're oblivious in that way that only elderly folks can be, so that probably wouldn't have done much good.

My sympathies, though. That is nasty.

Hmmm... what would I have done? I'd have kept quiet or pretend not to notice, go home and have a long hot bath. I know its not the best thing to do, but that's what I'd have done... Or maybe just moving to another place would have been better.
If you said something there would've been an awkward situation - it would be best if someone else quietly said somethign to the couple...

You could excuse yourself and move. Sometimes things are not worth gettting into. Yesterday we had a member of our church back his car into someone elses. Neither church member knew the other. They introduced themselves to one another and exchanged information after mass. They had coffee together in the church hall and went about like it was no big deal. This was remarkable since most of my fellow Christians can be less than Christian like with their behavior.

Its like farting in the car on a date. There are only two people there who could have done it.

Whether it was you or the other- Don't say anything, don't roll the window down, nor adjust the AC, nor sniffle, or make any indication that anything happened.

Same thing goes for dandruff. It falls just like farts do.

I would have paid attention to what was going on in the service, instead of getting so easily distracted.
I'm sure the tiny flakes of dandruff that were hitting you were nothing to get to worked up over...
Mary Magdeline washed Christ's feet with her hair, I'm sure you can deal with a few dandruff flakes on ur lap.
If it was that big of a deal, dont sit by him again

Well , thats a tough one. They were sweet elderly people with no regards to the people around them. You may have had to stand instead of sit , but without the ability to say something to them , you would have to move.

You could have located an usher and asked him to find you a new seat, and if that is all that was bothering then you have a problem being with people try praying for guidance in this area God can help.
