Would a past history of DUI(alcohol) be a major problem in getting a Merchant Marine Document(MMD)?

I have a past history of DUI(alcohol) that happened 5 years ago, I which I have already complied. I have all the clearance I need to prove that I completed all my penalties from DMV. Will this be a major problem for me to pass the Merchant Mariner Document training? Thanks in advance!

I'm not familiar with the Merchant Marine but if you have to speak with a recruiter then he/she would be the person to ask and if that is not an option then make sure you have all the paperwork you need and in order with proof that you have fulfilled all the requirements that came upon you and you should be ok.
