Has anyone a failsafe method of making Yorkshire Pudding. Mine always collapses in the middle. I want to make a toad in the hole tonight. Thanks

make your batter as normal BUT instead of using normal cold water (as well as milk) replace the water with fizzy bottled water, it works everytime as the fizzy water puts loads more bubbles into the batter therefore its failsafe

When you make the batter up, really really whisk it so there is lots of air in the mixture, then put it in the fridge for an hour before you want it. Put a pan of oil in the oven for about 15 mins before you put the batter in (this is irrelevant with toad in the hole because the sausages are already cooking in the pan). Take batter out of the fridge and whisk again, then take hot pan out of oven, pour batter straight onto it and put it straight back in again. Then DO NOT open the door again till the yorkshire is ready.

Good luck!

make sure that your pan is REALLY hot. A cast iron skillet that has been heating in the stove before you put the batter in works best. Another option is to make smaller ones, the smaller it is, the less likely to collapse. You can make individual puddings in muffin tine & they always puff up well.

Eggs, milk and flour. Get the recipe from any cookbook..
Whatever recipe make sure your oven and the oil you use is HOT HOT HOT, before you put the batter in!
Then once its all in the oven DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN DOOR or the batter will sink!
Goodluck x

You need to add cold water in order for thme to rise. That's the secret - very hot fat and very cold water. Aside from that stick to the standard recipe.

just chuck a load of sausages in the oven then 3 minutes before they are ready cook one of those large ready made aunt bessie things, put sausages in the centre, add gravy and bingo!

Toad in the hole will be fine because of the fat in the sausages will help it rise.

You can give me the 10 points tomorrow.
