Again, these days the Pharmacist is able to "flavor" some medicines.

Try mixing it with orange juice, and be very casual about it. If you're nervous, she'll pick up on that and know something unpleasant is coming up. It's hard to make a 2 year old understand the importance of taking their medicine. They often will take their cues from you. I remember when my kids were around that age, I had a really hard time getting them to take medicine. I noticed that our babysitter was able to get them to take it without any tears. All she did was measure it, pour a little in a spoon, add a few drops of water and give it to them. They drank it! The only difference was her relaxed demeaner. So given that, try orange juice, honey, apple juice, whatever she likes that's really sweet or has a strong flavor. Relax, and good luck!

A syringe is better than a spoon (By that I mean an oral syringe not a needle!)
Mind you, my little two year old still won't take his medicine so I tend to mix it in a bit of milk. He drinks it easily then. The only problem with this is making sure he drinks the whole lot or the dosage will be wrong.
it's horrible isn't it. I really feel for you.
good Luck

Whenever my daughter has to take liquid medicine (she's 2 1/2), we still use the dropper that you can get (for free!) from the pharmacist. You simply fill the dropper with the amount and squirt it (slowly) in the side of her mouth - we've done both inside the teeth and outside, but make sure to get it on the side - if you try to squirt it directly down her throat she will have a gag reaction (my daughter threw up when we did that by accident). If she won't swallow, we've found that blowing gently in her face will involuntarily make her swallow. Good luck!!

have a little bowl of ice cream ready for her to eat, only after she takes her medicine. I tried mixing it with food and drinks my older child, now he still hates to take medicine and he's 10. My 2 year old was taught to take it with out anything, except a treat after and now she does a good job taking medicine.
Good luck.

I was told by my doc if the kid refuses to take the medicine to hold their nose shut and force the medicine down. They have to swallow, but don't hold their nose too long or they might choke. A few seconds tops.

Try flavoring the medicine, if that doesn't work, put in in her favorite drink or foods, that way, she doesn't actually taste the medicine, she tastes the food.

expalin to her, in a way that she will already understand the importance of the medicines. you can also disguise the
taste of the meds by following it up with juice or some honey

If it's liquid, put it in her favorite drink. If it's a pill, crush it up really finely and put it in her favorite snack.
