If you had a baby in 06', do you get a tax credit? Is it based on your income? How much is the tax credit??

Yes, you get the credit. Even if the baby is born 12-31, you get the credit. It's $1000 each child.

Yes. There are many life changing events that one gains tax credits for. Graduating from college, moving more than X distance, divorce, marriage, births and deaths all have tax breaks that come with them. Go to the IRS.gov and look it up.

yes, you do--even if the baby was born on the last day of the year. ;-) it's not based on income, as far as i know, and i think it's around 3k.
