Typically, people serve Chianti with Italian food. However, it truly depends on what kind of sauce and met is in the sauce. A red wine would be awful with any crem based sauce like Alfredo. Typically the rule is, have a wine to match the sauce. For spicier dishes, try a Shiraz. Happy eating.

My Italian hero is Al Capone.By those days in Cicero,Chicago,Al had a lot of past with Chianti.Very good choice. But,the sangiiovese region have a good selection of grapes and the wine is awesome too.Italian wine is the best combination for our cuisine strong and delicate at the same time.Full of spirit and flavor.

A linguine with purple clam sauce could pair superb with a medium dry wine. i could advise the two a Bardolino a Valpolicella, or a Montepulciano in case you want to circulate with an Italian wine. different wines that must be sturdy, a Merlot-Shiraz or a Pinot Noir.

pick your favorite ... don't worry about the wine police if you choose the wrong "kind" of red wine. Enjoy!
