Ten years ago I bought some great eyeglasses, that I would still be using except I need a different prescription. All the glasses I have bought since get scratched easily. I use a damp cloth to carefully clean them and make sure they are tight enough not to fall off, and put them in a safe place when I take them off. Its definitely a change in the plastic. I would pay more for plastic that didn't scratch so easily.

Rx Optical or any place like that. They now offer scratch guard which is a coating put on the lens to help keep the lenses from getting scratched. If taken care of properly the stuff really works. I didn't clean mine properly the first time and I ruined the scratch guard the second pair I took care of better and the my lenses have no detectable scratches after one year. Good Luck>

when you order your next pair of glasses remember to ask for the extra scratch proofing that they offer. it doesn't cost much and it's really worth it. I think all opticians offer it now. I get it when I buy glasses and I'm rough on mine so you should be fine.
