well, I figure because that this is in the Dodge area--you are talking about the Cummins 5.9 and 6.7. The B-series engine does not have liners. The pistons are forged alum with different treatments done to the piston crowns depending on the horsepower rating. steel rings (top ring chrome) with steel ring land inserts in the piston
