It all depends on your future goal, what type little exercise you do squeeze in, what type of intensity of exercise you are used to,your gender,BMI, weight, height and what you eat.
If you are going to do cardio {my choice if little time} Keep your calories and food clean. The good food from the NEW food pyramid.
If you are an athlete your calories should be more then the average person your height/weight.
If you are looking to lose weight don't go any lower then 1,700.
This is a very brief answer but I hope it helps

It's in your bodies best interest to eat 6 small meals a day. But since your stuck, at where ever and can't excises, AM breakfast(important), mid-morning(yogurt or equivalent to),2PM have a granola bar, and of course dinner of your choice. Since you can't exercises you need to drink water, water, water, and more water. As for exercising, can be done in many forms through out the day, even at a desk, walking to and from the car excedra... cutting your Cal's, because there is no time is not the answer, because food is you gas, and that you burn throughout the day to think, to move even. Besides, you don't want to make yourself sick by not eating enough. I'm working with several people now that have lost weight(to be proud of), and they eat 6 small meals a day, while there at their desk at work, at home in their beds.... feel free to contact me.. good luck and don't starve yourself, it's not necessary.
