You mean hospitals where they refuse abortions, you mean missionaries you go round converting people?
Are you telling me the Vatican is poor?

He should let homeless people stay there with him. Isn't that supposed to be the Christian way?

Actually the Pope lives in a small, modest apartment. He owns nothing, not even the clothes he wears. And if you don't think that being Pope is a life of incredible sacrifice, you are really ignorant of what the position requires. Even a pastor of a small church lives a life of sacrifice, let alone the shepherd of the universal Church of God. Do you object to where the President lives?
Does the Church have wealth? It's members do contribute generously, as the Bible instructs us to. How else would God's Church be able to provide more human services, run more schools, hospitals, hospices, counseling centers and other sources of critical human services than all other churches combined?? How else could the Church send thousands of missionaries to every country on earth in an effort to bring the love of Christ to the world? Do I detect a note of jealousy?

Actually, he doesn't live in "incredible luxury," or in any type of luxury for that matter.
The papal apartment at the Vatican is actually quite modest.
No offense, but your comments are very similar to those of the disciple who chastised Jesus for allowing fine perfume and oil to be used on Him, instead of selling the stuff and giving it to the poor.
That disciple's name was Judas Iscariot.
So let me ask you: is the Pope living in the Vatican really your problem? Or is there some deeper bone that you have to pick with the Church -- and the "incredible luxury" thing is just a cover for it?

What sacrifices is he asking people to make? The head of a major religion needs an impressive pad, and he has the best of them all, because catholicism is the original christian church. He doesn;t live in incredible luxury - he lives in style and grace, as befits a leader of a religion. I am an out and out atheist, not an idiot.

I'd much rather have him living in the Vatican than in the house next door to me.

He has sacrificed His Life for God and thus for all humanity. I think its OK. the residents is not as luxurious as you might think it is very simple.
