My throat hurts, stuffed up nose, and I have a headache all the time. Some days I have a fever. I have already been to the doctor twice and they say it is just a common cold....but I get a fever??
What is this?!?

Not sure...but your parents should really consider a different doctor....if this has been ongoing for 3 weeks...it's time to do something different!

I doubt it's mono. Usually mono causes you to have an extreme drop in your energy. You can fall asleep on the phone and at other times when you would not expect it. The glands under your armpits might be swollen.
It sounds to me like you have a sinus infection. Three weeks is a long time for a cold to run its course (next time take Zycam in the first days of your cold and it should shorten the time of the cold to 4-5 days max). Anyway, a cold is a viral infection. You probably have a secondary bacterial infection. Did your doctor run a strep test? If you have a constant headache, you probably have a sinus infection, and it is dripping into your throat. Are you coughing with a hoarse raspy cough (that could be bronchitis)? Are you still blowing mucous out of your nose? What color is it? If it is clear or white, then it is the cold or another viral infection. If it is yellow orange or brown, then you have a bacterial infection.

no- it doesn't sound like mono- it sounds like you're not recovering from your cold- this could be a couple of things- 1- your immune system just can't catch up- this could be serious so you should ask you parents to take you to a different doctor and draw some blood and see youw your antibodies and all that good stuff are faring- 2- you're not taking your meds correctly, or are not letting your body rest- if you've been sick this long you need to be lying in bed just being sick- going to school or doing other normal activities could be taking up too much energy and your body is too wiped out to kill the bug you know- my friend does this all the time- she get sick and just keeps going- it wears her body out and she's sick - and miserable-for a week easy
do what your doc says as fafr a s meds but take these too: you multivitamin, echinacia, and stay way from sugar- if it is just a common cold ( or sinus problems it also sounds like) this will help. oh- and take long hot showers to relieve your sinus problems, and get your rest!
i hope you feel better soon- I'm sorry you've been sick for soo long- but if you're doing everything you can to get over- maybe its time to hit up a second opinion and get your immune system checked out-

Have you kissed any guys lately? Or had a drink after someone else? That can give you mono. If not just wait it out, this has happened to my little brother before, It was just a cold.

Mono is from kissing. You 've got a cold, having fever is apart of that. Relax

Geezzzz,,,, it is time to see the doctor again. Three weeks is much too long for this to still be occurring.
