what could drive a person to such extremes? How can they kill their own child? I understand the situation she's in having been in something not even close as bad, but still, a baby???? It makes me sick to think of it. What are your opinions?

Umm, I'm not a Christian and I never condemned her. I wondered why she felt she needed to go to such extremes. Yikes, to the one who is speaking of christians. You really took the question the wrong way.

Pretty scary.
People in her condition should be able to get abortion for free.
How can you pretend you live in a free country when someone is forced to rear a child that came from a rape against its own mothers wishes?
Reading over the other answers and reflecting, I think you have to entertain the possibility that she was lying - highlighting the graphic and unpleasant nature of the act (a long, thin screwdriver) because she is really 'pro-life' and deeply religious.

What's up, i'm Charles the only thing that could drive a person to kill a baby that they brought into the world is the Devil, cause u can't be in your right state of mind to do something so ****** up as that ya know. How and where did u find this out at and did you know that a women put her baby in the microwave or are we talkin bout the saything but if not that was ****** up too. To the females that read this when or if u have children this should be a reason you should take good care of your kids because there's alot of crazy s**t going on in the world and your children who are so innocent don't have to fall short and become victims ya cause just not right that people snatch kids up and do who knows what to them, but i'mma close on that note cause it's just makin me mad thinkin bout dis and people who do stupid shi* like that. Hope someone paying attention....

IF this is a real situation - and I do mean IF - people in abusive relationships do many desperate things. Two of my friends were mentally and emotionally abused by their boyfriends long ago. One of them packed up and moved three states away to get away from her ex, and didn't even tell her parents where she had moved to for nearly a year (until after he had stopped hounding them demanding to know where she'd moved to). I also grew up in a small town, so I know that there truly are places out there that do not provide shelter services for women in abusive relationships. I can also fully understand why she would not want to have a child with this man. Having a child with him means he would have parental rights, and unless she hired a lawyer (with money she clearly doesn't have) and got his rights stripped (which is difficult to do unless she has proof of the history of abuse), she would have to deal with him until one of them died.
I feel very, very sorry for this woman and the situation she is in. But things like this probably happen a lot more than people realize.

she is ignorant and needs to be educated and also talk to a theropist. I cant say this enough when I keep reading these post from women about abusive men. If a woman in this country stays with an abusive man she is getting what she deserves. I dont care where she lives or what her circumstances are. They are places anyone can go to. Go to a church, a doctor, a free clinic, the police, get away from a man the first time he abuses you. I agree with you that this is one sad person but she is really lacking in intelligence.

I know what question your talking about it was extreme for her own safety maybe she felt that she would never love that baby the way a mother should love her child I'm 24 weeks pregnant would never do that to myself and i hope she gets help

I can only assume that you are at the point where the baby/the situation is driving you so insane and that you know longer know what you are doing. Complete insanity without conscious thought and even then...I am with you...a baby????? I can't even imagine hurting one let alone killing one.

It is SO sad, but why are you drawing more attention to it. She needs Psychiatric
help not people to criticise her. The quran dose not teach this. It's a book of love, Allah is a God of love. What you have done is not nice. Please sister do you get obsessed with people?
