Why is there so much crap in the music charts nowadays?

I don't know how you sound(let others promote you, and not your own mouth) but to answer your question, it is business, and it all comes down to money.
A record company will not invest their money in anyone unless they firmly believe a return on the investment is certain. Is there talent? Are they marketable? What target audience would the genre be marketed to? And which genre is it? An album of rock and roll can cost (properly done) upwards of 70,000 . An album of Rap, 15,000. Why do you think the lawyers(yes, the lawyers) are making the decisions? The A&R people have much to do, but lawyers have a bigger part than you know.

You are soooo totally right.All the industry are interested in is making money for the least outlay.Formerly a record label would support an artist or group and allow them to develop and improve. Now, the label will dump the artist as soon as their popularity takes a dip.So you now get lowest common denominator c**p.

i agree bob. i think its because kids listen to radio 1 to much. we need the catchy tunes back i.e rudebox etc lol
