Nope...both Northern Ireland and England are part of Britain. You don't even need a passport from Northern Ireland into Ireland since they are both members of the EU...that's if you have already passed through customs going into England.

yes, and a visa and all sorts of health jabs, LOL, no seriously, Northern Ireland is PART OF THE UK and you don't need a passport. And whycantigetagoodnickname, you do need a passport to travel to and from the UK to ANY part of the EU, it's only travel within the other EU countries that you only need you national ID card.

As with all travel within europe you dont need a passport, however, it depends on the method of travel. If you are going to fly then the airlines will need some official identity papers from you and the passport is the most common and easily accepted form. Simularly with ferry travel, I think they will also want to see some sort of ID.

Sailors for example, can travel round the world using a seamans card that basically says they are sailors and are en-route to a ship and that is an acceptable alternative to a passport.

No, but you do need ID if you are flying there. Can't go wrong with a passport but they accept full driving licences too.

depending if you fly or go by ferry, and if you are a british subject, when flying you allways need a passport, with the ferry,i think a id cart will be enough if you are british.

No, but if flying (and maybe even for the ferry these days - we live in paranoid times) you should take photo ID - i.e. passport or photo driving licence.

No, but check with the airline as you will require some form if photo identification, such as a drivers licence.
