No. I feel sorry for the women and men that rushed into marriage for the sake of being married and are unhappy. The majority of my friends (men & women) that are married tell me to wait as long as I can. Not being married at 30 is okay for this day and age. You see, back in the 50's-60's life expectance was 50-60 years old. Now it is close to 70. I believe the longer you wait the better off you are financally and on a machurity level. The last thing you want is to be a single parent trying to raise 3 kids and have a social life.

I would hope they wouldn't feel sorry for them ... there are many choices and experiences to be had before marriage
It made me curious though, as the question is directed to women and why is it the same view wasn't directed to man or woman ... do we still feel that a single 30 yo male is quite normal .. or because we don't expect the majority of 30 yo men to be matured enough to marry yet? and that would explain why women chose to get involved with "older" males ... just a thought

What an odd question. Really made me stop and think. I'm 46 and single, and I seriously hope that people DO NOT feel sorry for me. I enjoy the fact that I am independant and can take care of myself. I enjoy the fact that I can do what I want, when I want. I very seldom get lonely since I have many interests to keep me busy. When it's time for "Mr. Right" that will be great, but in the mean time, I'm perfectly content the way things are.

Only if they live in UTAH. Otherwise i don't think it's a problem for people.
In Utah if you are female and not married at 21, people get worried about you being left alone for life.
Women today are much more liberated and motivated to do things. Not that they weren't many decades prior to this, it just seems as if women are enabled more in today's more modern society.
I know dozens of women in their 30's who have never married, and are not now in a committed relationship.
One reason for this could be the lack of mature men available to them. Men are for whatever reason still playing video games, and such and don't have much interest in doing anything constructive with thier lives.

I don't feel sorry for them, but I do think our society wonders "what's wrong." As it becomes more and more common place, I hope that view changes. Actually, some of my single friends in their 30s seem a little unhappy. It's like the pressure from outside to get married is starting to weigh on them.

This is 2007, not the stone ages. Women have a lot more going on than just marriage these days. I am in my 30's and I just got married last year.

Believe it or not, some people are happy not to be married. Marriage is not the begin all and end all of life. If we meet the right person and can be happy while married then that is great, but a lot of people PREFER not to be married, and there is nothing wrong with that at all.

Why would they feel sorry for them? When you say "still not married or, etc." you make it sound like the only important thing there is to accomplish in life is partnering with someone. If that is all anyone aspires to, I truly feel sorry for THEM.

i dont..i envy them.....in the old days of arranged marriages...there had to be something wrong with you if you were 30+and single...but nowadays its a choice...women now are too busy with their careers and their own lives to be bothered about hooking up ith the opposite sex and having children ...do i sound bitter?probably
