I have heard mixed reviews from this. Some people say you should change shampoos because your hair starts to get used to the same one time after time and the shampoo has no effect. However, I believe that as long as your shampoo is working for you, keep using it. As for me, I change shampoo as the weather changes. During the summer, I use Pantene and Dove. During the winter, I use Pantene and Head and Shoulders because my scalp gets dry. Coconut Oil is great for the hair but you should give your hair a break and don't use as many straighteners.

Many shampoos cause a gradual buildup on your hair that can cause your hair to go all dull, limp and lifeless after a while. Most salon products claim not to do this, but you might want to shop around a bit.
I'm also a dandruff sufferer, and also used H&S for a long time, as it happens. I've become convinced that, if the devil made shampoo, he'd still be a distant second. Since switching to Kerastase, my hair is just so much better. Don't be afraid to try salon products - they are more expensive, but I find I use a lot less of it. Typically a bottle of K can last me up to 4 months, and that's washing every day.
If you really can't afford it though, I'd say you should try and switch every month or two. Also read up a bit on the finer art of washing hair. Here are some articles that may be useful:

It's true to a degree - Most hairdressers will tell you to change brands every couple/four weeks! But as for the practicality of that, well, you have to judge!
Try using a clarifying/detox shampoo once a week/fortnight! Then every 2 months or so, change brands!
Are you sure it is dandruff - it may just be very dry skin, which is different to dandruff! Head and Shoulders shampoo can also leave your scalp dry after prolonged use!

Head and shoulders in not a good shampoo to use on anyones hair!! For itchy flakey scalps a good shampoo to use is Sebamed, you get it from a chemists, it is very gentle with no colours and smellies in but it is more expensive than your average shampoo. Make sure you rinse your hair properly when washing your hair as most dandruff is caused by shampoo not being rinsed out properly

You should change shampoos whenever you think your shampoos isn't as effective as it was. I used Head and Shoulders for four months and found it left a build up which I was able to wash out with Chamomile shampoo. Then I used a Tea Tree Oil conditioner for the dandruff. It worked great. Once in a while I use apple cider vinegar in warm water, or lemon juice in warm water for light highlights to rinse out dulling film,

Personally, I've always bought different shampoo every time i go shopping as i feel you can definetley tell the difference and your hair always feels nicer using a different one. If you have dandruff, T-gel shampoo s a good one to use

Hi there, well i got the same advice from my hairdresser and she said that i should switch between 2-3 types of shampoo. She told me to switch shampoos once you've finished them and rotate between the 2-3 types.

Its not real, which you may desire to alter your shampoo to maintain it healthful. while you're utilising a shampoo, you're chuffed with, there is not any reason to alter it. yet while your hair if frizzy, perchance you ought to use a moisturizing shampoo. To me organic ESSENCE (DEEP HYDRATION) will help to dry, friyyz hair and make your hair shinier.
