Unbelief in Jesus Christ is the one sin that has caused more pain and suffering in this world, than any other sin.
All humanities pain and suffering starts with the root of unbelief.
Think about it, if everyone lived Godly lives and worshipped the Savior, this world would be Heaven on earth. There would be no Poverty, No Rapes, No Murder, No theft, No divorce, No abortion, No promiscuity, No hatred toward one another, No war, No disease -etc. Gods protection and His blessings would keep us safe from Calamity. Yes, the greatest sin of all, is unbelief.

The Almighty tells us of many things that are abominations. (that means bad) Some are worse than others. Scripture teaches that all have sinned, and fallen short. No matter how far you have fallen short, if you hear the pleading of the Spirit, you have not yet grieved the Spirit away, and can return to the grace of the Almighty. If you have grieved the Spirit until you no longer hear pleadings to return (and it sounds like some of our "atheistic" readers might be in that group) then the way of return is not open. It is not helpful to speculate which abominations are worse than others.

If u consider that the greatest commandment was to love one another then I'm guessing that the greatest sin would be to do the exact opposite.
If u love your neighbor u would not commit murder, hate crimes, or any of the other things wrong with the world today?

The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.
If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't perfect.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.
First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.
How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work 100 percent of the time?
It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.
One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.
Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.
If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.
If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.
How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.
Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.
If this is the case and we are perfect creations of a perfect God then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.
How likely is that????
Think about it.
The idea of sin is simple nonsense; a lie made up about God by religion.

All sins are the same in Gods eyes. In my eye, sins that hurt other people, not just the one doing the sinning.

How about stealing from a church, ought to be few pasors and preachers and such burning in hell for that one. Or my personal favorite sin would be the Catholic Church building up one of the richest most powerful organizations on earth supported hugely by some of the poorest people on earth.

I'm not religious and don't appreciate those people that are answering this question with ten paragraphs of bible bashing.
All I'm going to say is that I think the worst sin, is to murder an innocent person. I know all murder is bad, but it's not so bad if the person you murdered was a murderer first (and that they murdered someone innocent).

The only “sin” if you will, is the braking of a contract that you have with god. Example suicide—every thing you do in this life has a purpose weather you kill or you become a priest its all for the growth of your soul, except suicide.
