BAKED SWEET POTATOES

2 tbsp. vegetable oil
6 med.-size sweet potatoes

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Scrub potatoes and dry well. Then coat all potatoes with vegetable oil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and prick each potato with fork to release steam. Cut cross in the top of each potato, then press both ends until potato bursts through. Top with butter.

You're gonna use all that heat for one? Bake something with it :)

So turn the oven on to 350 F (don't know the C conversion off the top)
Wash and scrub the potato, I leave the skin on since it has been washed, but you can peel it
Get a piece of foil, put the potato on the foil, rub a little butter on the skin (use the foil so no mess), sprinkle with a little salt and pepper
Wrap up the potato in the foil and toss...err put in the oven.

Will take at least 30 mins. It will be done when you can squeeze it gently with an oven mitt on your hand and it is almost but not quite squishy, or when you can stick a knife though it with little resistance.

Bake a couple pf potatoes at a time and reheat later in the micro, or bake a piece of chicken or something to make it worthwhile using the oven.

wash the potato.
Use a soft brush to get all of the mud off.
Prick with a fork several times. rub the outside of the potato with a little olive oil.
Wrap in foil and bake in 350 oven for 20-25 mins.
Check after 20 min to see if done if small potato.

I bake potatoes and Sweet potatoes in the microwave oven. Very easy--wash the potatoes, pierce them several times with a fork or knife. Place them on a plate, normally four maximum at a time, bake them on high for eight minutes. You can tell if them are done if you can sequence them slightly.
Remove from the oven, cut in half and put some butter or margarine on them--very very good.

I actually like to bake mine in my microwave.....takes no time at all. To bake either way - oven or microwave - you must poke a hole or two or cut slits into the potato to allow steam to escape.

If the potato is small I'd start with 2 minutes in the microwave and add time by the single minute until soft to pressure. If baking in the oven it will probably take 30 - 60 minutes at 350 degrees...similar to a white potatoe.

Simple, Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Wash Thoroughly. Next, Slice off the outer ends, then prick holes into the potato with a fork. Place on baking pan, and bake until soft all around. Enjoy!

just like you would a regular potato.
Pierce it several times with a fork, wrap it in tin foil, put into oven at 350 degrees for about 20 min. Test by pressing into it to see if it is soft, longer cooking if not soft enough.

Two ways:

1) wash, pierce the skin, coat the outside with a light coating of olive oil

2) wash, pierce the skin, wrap in aluminum foil

Either way, bake at 375 for about 40 min (check at 30 if it is small).
