Social Security Offices are considered government offices, and therefor they will be closed on January 15, 2007 for the holiday.
Banks will be closed, all though most in store banks (such as the grocery store type branches) will be open.
Buses, trolleys, and subways in most major cities run on normal schedule, all though some will run on a holiday or weekend schedule (call ahead if you aren't sure)
In most cities, there is no trash collection, so trash is delayed one day pickup for the week (again, varies city by city)
All city and county government offices are closed.
Some state governor's offices are open, and some states have legistlature in session (but this isn't too common for a holiday)
Schools are closed
Amusement parks, zoos, and other tourist spots are open
In most states parking meters won't be inforced
