Thanks for the link, I checked it out.
Sounds a bit like the book of Mat... hm, now that seems to me, to be a lot of common ground. don't it.
Gee how did we ever become so blind towards other people,
that we can not even see our Brother through the fog of politics!

Very well done my brother. yes not cousin , but brother.
If we can not call each other brother, then I ask why? Is it not God's will. or our will, your will, my will?
it is the political will of the powers that be, that needs radical change in this regards. Nothing can stop the Wedding nothing! When Christianity and Islam embrace one another as children of God, may be we can even have compassion on the poor old Jew, blessed be he.
Umm media Generated manufactured consensus , where have I hard that b4?

Islam agrees with Christianity, in general, on the following points:

1. Islam advocates the holiness of Jesus. As a matter of fact, it is an essential part of the Islamic teaching to revere Jesus and to believe in his holiness, and that he lived in this world as a pure person free of any sin. From the Holy Qur'an:

"When the angels said: 'O Mary! Surely God gives thee good news of a word from Him whose name is the Messiah, Jesus, Son of Mary, worthy of regard in this world and the hereafter, and of those who are highly accepted by God.' " 3:45

2. Islam declares the holiness of Mary, the mother of Jesus. No Muslim can doubt the decency and purity of Mary. She, according to the Qur'an, had been the most noble among the women of the nations:

"And when the angels said: 'O Mary! Certainly God has chosen thee and made thee pure and has preferred thee above the women of all nations. 'O Mary! Be obedient to thy Lord, prostrate thyself and bow with those who bow (in worship).'" 3:42-43

3. Islam declares that Jesus was miraculously born from a virgin mother with no father. From the Holy Qur'an:

"And mention Mary in the book. When she withdrew to a place east of her family. She screened herself from them; then We sent to her Our angel, and he appeared to her as a man in all respects. She said: 'I seek refuge in God against you if you are righteous.' He said: 'I am only a Messenger of Thy Lord to grant to you a pure boy.' She said: 'How can I have a son, and no mortal has yet touched me, nor have I been unchaste?' He said: 'So (it will be). Thy Lord says: "It is easy for Me; and that We may make him a sign to men and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter decreed. Then she conceived him; and withdrew with him to a remote place. And the throes of childbirth drove her to the trunk of the palm-tree. She said: 'Oh, would that I had died before this, and had been a thing quite forgotten. So a voice came to her from beneath her: 'Grieve not, surely thy Lord has provided a stream beneath thee. And shake towards thee the trunk of the palm-tree, it will drop on thee fresh ripe dates. So eat and drink and be pleased. Then if thou seest any human, say: "Surely I have vowed a fasting for the sake of the Beneficent, so I will not speak to any human today." 19:16-26

4. The Qur'an attributes to Jesus many of the miracles which are mentioned in the Gospel. According to the Holy Qur'an, Jesus was empowered by God to cure the sick, revive the dead, and make the blind see:

"... and He (God) will make him (Jesus) a messenger to the children of Israel (saying): 'I have come to you with a sign from your Lord that I fashion for you, out of clay, the likeness of a bird, and I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by permission of God. I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I raise the dead by permission of God. And I announce unto you what ye eat and what ye store in your houses. 'Lo! Herein verily is a sign for you, if ye are to be believers.' " 3:49

In addition to this, the Holy Qur'an ascribes to Jesus a miracle that is not recorded in the gospels: Jesus spoke clearly while he was in the cradle:

"Then she came to her people with him, carrying him. They said: 'O Mary, thou hast indeed brought a strange thing. O sister of Aaron, thy father was not a wicked man, nor was thy mother an unchaste woman.' But she pointed to him. They said: 'How should we speak to a one who is a child in the cradle?' He said: 'I am indeed a servant of God. He has given me the Book and made me a prophet; and He has made me blessed wherever I may be, and He has enjoined on me prayer and purity so long as I live. And to be kind to my mother; and He has not made me insolent, un-blessed. And Peace be on me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I am raised to life (in the Hereafter).' " 19:27-33

The area of disagreement between Islam and Christianity, concerning Jesus, includes the following points:

1. Although Islam accepts the holiness of Jesus, it denies his divinity. According to the teaching of Islam, Jesus is no deity. He is not God, nor is he united with God. He is worthy of reverence and great respect, but he is not worthy of worship. Islam is uncompromising in its Monotheism. God is only One, and there is no God but He, the Almighty, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsistent, the Infinite in life, knowledge, and power. Jesus is not ever-living. He was born less than 2000 years ago, and according to the gospels, he died after a very short life. He is not almighty because he was a subject of persecution; nor was he infinite. He could not be the Creator of the world because the world is over four billion years old, while he was born less than two thousand years ago. He is not worthy of worship because he himself was a humble worshipper of God.

2. Jesus, according to the teaching of Islam, is not a son of God. God does not have any son or child, because He is above that. Bodily parenthood is inconceivable in His case because He is not physical. Spiritual parenthood also is not conceivable, because He is the Creator of every spiritual and material being. The Holy Qur'an is clear on this point:

"And (they) impute falsely, without knowledge, sons and daughters unto Him. Glorified be He and high exalted above (all) that they ascribe (unto Him). The Originator of the heavens and the Earth! How can He have a child when there is no consort for Him, when He created all things and is Aware of all things? Such is God, your Lord. There is no God save Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He taketh care of all things." 6:100-102

3. Islam denies the crucifixion of Jesus. Jesus did not die on the cross. The Holy Qur'an is clear on this point.

"And because of their saying: 'We slew the Messiah Jesus Son of Mary, the Messenger of God.' They slew him not nor crucified him, but appeared so unto them; and lo! Those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof but the pursuit of a conjecture; for certain they slew him not, but God took him up to Himself. God is Ever-Mighty, Wise." 4:157-158

Well you have some good answers above. Islam and Christianity share a lot of common ground (what is now found in the Old Testament in the Bible From Adam onwards). It wasn't until Jesus did we begin to have differring views. We have all been taught that God sends Prophets to show humanity the right path. We know that God is one. He was not born, He has no equal and will not have a descendent. So this becomes the central belief of Muslims who admit that Jesus was a special prophet but a man nonetheless since God has no children. Muslims believe that, 4 great books were delivered to humans, the Zamrud(I think now lost in time), the Torah the Bible and the Quran are all the work of the One God but many have been modified through translation or edited by men. This is the reason why when the Quran (the last of the 4 books) was put together, the decision was made not to let go of the original text in Classic Arabic. We are merely looking at the same coin from different angles. Despite what the politicians say, both religions share far more in common than differences.

I'm not Muslim or Christian (or Jewish). From what I've heard, the difference is that Christians believe that Jesus was the son of God, basically God on Earth. Jews... and Muslims, I guess, maybe, I've not really heard about this, believe that Jesus was just a man, a man through whom God spoke, or however the prophet thing works. To the Jews at least, Jesus was NOT the Messiah, so when he comes to Earth, it won't be the second coming of Christ, but the first. This is how I've heard it, anyway.

Muslims believe that God is not like humans. He does not have a father or mother or any siblings. nor does he have any children. We do believe that Mary was the mother of Jesus and that she did not marry before he was born. the difference is we believe that to be a miracle caused by God whereas christians believe that Jesus was the son of God. Or actual God in spirit i think (still a little confused about trinity concept). We do believe that Jesus was sinless and that performed miracles. We do not believe he died by crucification but instead was raised to the heavens by God. He was the Prophet before Prophet Muhammad.

Yes according to islamic teaching Jesus was only just a prophet and Allah's messenger Surah 9 At Taubah verse 30 Allah spoke that Uzier in Taurat and Jesus in Bible were not the Son of Allah/God.,although in Surah 3 Ali Imran family verse 3 Allah stated that Taurat and Injil were the holy book from Allah but its verses had been changed .In Surah 3 Ali Imran family,Allah stated that the only religion which be blessed by Allah is only Islam..Surah 3 Ali Imran family verse 42 stated that Allah gave a special treat to Maryam and in verse 45 Jibril angel told Maryam that he will give birth to a son called Isa Almasih a welknown person in this world and in the life after death. He was near to Allah. In verse 48 stated that Allah gave holy book Injil to Isa Almasih. In verse 49 Allah stated that Isa Almasih was only a prophet with some miracles. In verse 52 Isa Almasih told his followers that Allah is my God and your God so pray to Allah.
Allah stated that Isa Almasih did not die on the cross,he was saved by Allah. In verse 171 Allah stated that there was no trinity
Isa almasih was only a prophet In Surah 5 Al Maidah verse 72,73 and 74 Allah stated that kafir or unbeliever if someone said that Isa Almasih is a part of a trinity and Isa Almasih was the son of God He was only Allah's messenger.
Based on those verses I convince that Jesus was only just a prophet.

Well, ummm if you open your Bible, brother, I'll ace this one for u.

Matthew 19:16-17
"And behold, one came and said unto him, 'Good master, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?' And he (Jesus) said unto him, 'Why thou callest me good? (There is) none good but one, God, but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments'"

Not convinced? More for you to ponder:

Matthew 21:45-46
"And when the cheif priests and pharisees had heard his parable, they perceived that he spoke of them. But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude because they took him for a Prophet" (Jesus's immediate followers thought of him as a prophet)

Confused? Well its your own bible, and u asked the question, Since you have refused to learn about my Qur'an, I took some time out to teach you about ur bible:

Matthew:23:9
"And call no man your Father upon the earth: for One is your Father which is in heaven"
>> Was Jesus in heaven when he said this? Because the "Father" was. Note here- Father is used synonymously with God.

Matthew 24:36
" But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no not the angels of the heaven, but my Father only."

You say Jesus is more than a prophet but he confesses something that he has no knowledge of. I KNOW that my God Knows everything- he created all of it! If you turn away from my answers- it is only plausible for u to be in denial, but hey, healing takes time. You asked for the answers, and I took them out of your own pocketbook. Seems like you didn't study well enough. Now gimme ten points for teaching u a ting or two...naah bro, just praise God.

Read their book. Jesus is not the Son of God. Jesus didn't die on the cross he was substituted with a double. It's in their book.

Quran:
[9:30] The Jews said, "Ezra is the son of GOD," while the Christians said, "Jesus is the son of GOD!" These are blasphemies uttered by their mouths. They thus match the blasphemies of those who have disbelieved in the past. GOD condemns them. They have surely deviated.

well I see you didn't get any answers from Muslims, my old boss is Muslim and we shared our differ ant views on Jesus their Quran states that Jesus was just a prophet and a look alike died on the cross not Jesus, but they believe he was born of a virgin, however they do believe he will come back to take those up into heaven, after the "real Christ" comes(anti-Christ) sorry don't mean to offend anyone that's just my opinion, and everyone has them and not everyone agrees so sorry to those for dis-agreeing with your religious beliefs

I am non-religious, but my mom is Muslim, and I know this:

Muslims believe that the messengers: Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed, were all prophets, but were brought onto earth at different ranks (Jesus first).

the job of a prophet is to bring everyone else back to God.. like what Abraham, Moses, David, Muhammad, and even Jesus.. they didnt speak for them selves.. they didnt have the power of their own.. they preach the word of God, not their own words.. and they didnt say that "i am God!" "bow before me" .. simple logic..
