Took Lucy to the vet today got an anti inflamatory shot for the fever and anti biotics for the upper respiratory infection. Vet says she'll be fine in a few days.

Take her to the vet!

Young kitties can get upper respiratory infections especially if they are from a shelter...this can keep them from eating properly (since they can't smell the food) and that's bad.

Any time the animal is off their feed or acting abnormally, you should consult a vet. Tomorrow morning call your vet and make an appointment. They'll want basic info- how long as the animal been sick, what kind of symptoms is it experiencing, etc.c

If you have other kittens of this litter, you may be asked to bring them in, too, in case its a contagious infection.

My experience with kittens is that almost all of them end up getting an upper respritory infection around 10-15 weeks old. Yes, this requires antibiotics so please go to the vet!

Not good. Time to tak kitty to the vet. Cats that age can go downhill really quickly. Sounds to me like he has some kind of upper respiratory infection. Its not just a cold.

Has your kitten had its vaccinations? I would be concerned if it lasts for 2 days. If its eating and drinking normally, and using the litter box, then dont worry about it. If its not doing any of these, then take it to the vet immediately. Small animals can get dehydrated very quickly so dont let it go more than a couple days.

This sounds like upper respitory virus. It's very common among cats. It can cause secondary problems like phneumonia. It is very contagious among cats also. Usually takes about six weeks to run its course. Although it will keep coming back. The good news is the older your cat gets, the less severe the symptoms. The reason your cat isn't eating is because it can't smell its food because of the nasel congestion. Cat's like to smell their food before eating it. Or it may be running fever. Take it to the vet.

For heaven's sake, this cat has a problem. (Kitten, actually.) PLEASE. Has "snot" around its nose, won't play, doesn't "seem" to be eating. Three symptoms & you are asking HERE? PLEASE don't add details that you can't afford a vet, even though that may be true! We CANNOT, MUST NOT take responsibility if we are incapable of fulfilling it. I would rob, cheat, steal (if necessary) to take the proper care of my feline. Otherwise, DON'T HAVE ONE.

Edit: My intention wasn't intended to be "mean." I am SO GLAD you added details! I'm always such a "worry wart" & hate things left blowing in the wind! Good on 'ya!!!

sounds like you should take your kitty to the vet! my cat had the same thing when she was 2: really lazy, not eating so much, sleepy and discharge from her nose. she was fine in a couple days, but our vet said it could have been a worse virus and that it was ideal that we took her there right away. she didnt need any meds or anything, but you never know. i suggest taking your cat to the vet ASAP!

Anytime a cat isn't interested in food, there is cause for concern. She is older so I would take her in to the vet to be sure.
