Hi, i've got a BSA Lightning XL .22, and i want to upgrade it with a gas ram. Does anyone know how to fit a gas ram into an air rifle? And aswell, i've heard that fitting a .177 gas ram into a .22 rifle can make it more powerful. Is this a possibility, or will the extra power break the air rifle?

Any other info on the subject would be great.

Thanks.

Same way as a spring, drop it in behind the piston and then compress it until you can get the pin in.

The 177 and 22 are otherwise the same, so the 177 ram shouldn't break the 22, unless the piston starts slamming into the cylinder, which isn't very likely.

If you are in the UK and you make the gun exceed 12 ft.lbs and you don't have a firearm certificate with this gun on it then you are creating a firearm and that could get you two years in a small room with no handle on the inside of the door.
