That's not always the case. And by the way Tobasco sauce is a cajun creation and made in louisana. You're more likely to see a pico de gallo or salsa to add to a dish. The heat comes from peppers often used to season mexican foods. Rice and beans are big in mexico but they are not a hot dish. And, surprise, Mexican cheeses are mild--not hot and spicy. People familiar with South-of-the-Border foods know that Mexicans prefer their Jalapenos on their cheese, not in their cheese.

In the USA, yes - most Mexican food is from the border area and it's hot. The further south you go the lower the heat (with some exceptions), eventually get to the area which shares the tropical milder flavors of Central America.

depends on what you get. A lot of ethnic foods tend to be spicy because back before refridgeration, spices were used to slow bacterial growth. Mexicans use a lot of chilies in their cooking. BUT there are many dishes that aren't spicy.

It just depends on what you get. For example, I stayed with a family in Mexico for a few days and we actually had to ask for some hot sauce. But some things were hot without putting hot sauce on it.

The answer is yes.Why? I don't know.Mexican-American people eat a lot of spicy,yes.I live in Texas,where I work some of my fiend add Tabasco sauce in the potato cheeps.So,do you have and idea now.They say for flavor,for me,they like the heat."cause Tabasco sauce,is 100% heat.Period.
