I have taken Claritin-D for several months at a time a few years in a row with no ill effects. I don't take it now because after having allergy testing, I can avoid dust mites via humidity control and hot water laundry. I would not hesitate to take it again if I needed it.

As always you should consult a doctor for extended use of any drug. I use Claritin everyday during bad allergy seasons. Which was prescribed by my doctor. I also take it twice a day because it's so bad somedays.

Yes. So long as your doctor knows you're taking it, and you don't have any liver or kidney problems.
