Nicotine gum?
At the end of the day though, it's motivation and determination that gets you to quit smoking. Learn to control your cravings--or you know, use scare tactics or something. Use something to motivate yourself.
I hope you successfully quit smoking--you'll be much healthier and living for much longer!

The trick is to quit at bedtime. Have your last smoke right before bed. When you wake up your craving will be there, but you just have to get through the first 24 hours before the nicotine craving is gone. If you still crave after that then you are just fighting the psychological addiction. You have to replace the smoking with something else. It's a great time to do projects around the house. Clean the garage, Install those closet shelves that are sitting in the back of the closet, you know, you have to keep busy. If you remain idle while trying to quit, you are just setting yourself up to fail. Start an excercize program. Nothing drastic, just something to get you going. Like maybe 25 push ups and 50 crunches. Do it every day. After a while you will want to do more. Follow that impulse. It's been 2 weeks for my husband and I. Let me tell you, we have the cleanest, most organized home we've ever had. Going to start on the garage soon.
Good Luck.

The most important thing you can do is keep trying different things. There is no one method that works for all people, but you will find the one that works for you if you keep trying. You are young, and damage is likely to be reversible.
I myself was able to quit with hypnosis. I understand this only works for people who can concentrate easily and completely, (such as reading a book and becoming so interested you lose track of time and what is going on around you.) The hypnosis helped me disassociate cigarettes with the physical discomfort of withdrawaI. I was able to look at that as if it were a flu that I just had to get over in time.
I tried and failed many times before that, patch, gum, classes, cold turkey, etc.
Good Luck.

I quit cold turkey with the help of wellbutrin. Its an antidepression pill, but it really made me just not crave ciggarettes - I was amazed. There is a new pill coming out on the market that is also supposed to be a miracle for smoking cessasion - Im not sure if its out yet. Its through Psyzers (sp?) If you are worried that a pill is unhealthy A) its really not, B) its temporary and C) its a LOT healthier then smoking

I have seen a commercial on TV for some info about nicotine addiction...most treatments just treat the habit but if you have a true addiction then it has to be treated like one. Talk to your doctor, or even your dentist. Maybe they know of some things you can try. I know my workplace even has a quit smoking program in place. They also have support groups for people who want to stop smoking.

Avprin⢠has helped thousands of people just like you. By stopping smoking, these people will enjoy their children and grandchildren for years to come. They will see them graduate, marry, hit home runs, and sit with them on the porch. Do you have the reason for quitting?"

Try to limit the cigarettes you take each day less and less. Like for today you can smoke your 14. Tomorrow strive for 1 less. The next day or week 1 less. And always keep yourself occupied.(Don't start another habit though!)

Go to your local hospital and meet some people who are dying from lung cancer. I guarantee you'll never smoke again.
